CORNISH CASTLE : T.D.Walford......G.Gibbons:- Mizzen Mast gelding, half brother to fair three year old miler Rattan, out of a dam credited with unplaced form only in the USA, but herself half sister to Kentucky Oaks winner Flute. This three year old gelded in the close season after two very moderate efforts, returning 2009 to win two Nottinham 8f. handicaps (Class 5/6.), although seemingly below par on his latest appearance April 30th. in Class 5 Redcar 8f. handicap, finishing eight and a half lengths fourth of seven to Paquerettza when 15/8 Fav. (No apparent excuses.). THIS THREE YEAR CAPABLE OF FURTHER IMPROVEMENT OVER THIS EXTRA QUARTER MILE. Negatives:- Poor last run. Distance index = 10f. (Turf.)*** Stable form = 38% win and placed.
